About the system

The United Information System of Electronic Healthcare in the Republic of Armenia is as a comprehensive and synchronous data-transmission platform for three types of data: clinical, administrative, and financial.

Currently, the registration and transfer of administrative, financial, and some clinical data related to the healthcare visits within the framework of the basic benefit and social insurance packages, and their reimbursement by state and insurance organizationst through the system are being administered.

2.9 million citizens have personal Electronic Health Records in the system. Citizens can access their personal page at armed.am website using their ID card and PIN.

The personal page of the patient currently contains information on the primary healthcare facility (PHF) and the physician in that PHF where the patient is registered at. It also provides information on the received treatment during visits, in the case of the BBP and social insurance package.

Once the e-Health system is fully operational, a citizen will have the opportunity to access and manage their health related information from one point.

The Advantages of the e-Health System

Reduction of risks of clinical errors

It enables accessing health records of every patient and to receive the required information through the system online and make informed decisions concerning their treatment.

Time saving

The information concerning the patient’s health is available online upon patient’s consent to doctors, regardless of where the healthcare facility is located and where the patient is. The electronic record of the patient’s health allows replacing the pile of paper with electronic data that can be reached in seconds, and the risks for their loss are excluded. The system also gives the opportunity to find a doctor, to make an appointment online, receive an electronic prescription if there is no need for additional examination.

Cost Reduction

It is possible to observe the results of all the examinations undergone by the patient through the system, which allows avoiding unnecessary examinations repetition.

Data-driven healthcare promotion

The e-Health system enables relevant organizations and governmental agencies to get accurate statistics on the overall health picture in Armenia. It promotes preventive healthcare, helps early diagnosis and reduces the risk of epidemic outbreaks.

Availability

The e-Health system helps to solve the problem concerning the lack of high-quality healthcare services in border communities.
